Annual health check and Vaccinations
Preventative healthcare is important for the well-being of your family pet.
An annual healthcheck is recommended for all animals. A full physical examination can detect disease processes before they start to make your pet ill and intervention may be able to stop them becoming ill.
As well as the annual vaccination (where appropriate) we will discuss with you preventative measures which can be taken to improve the health of your pet. This will include heartworm prevention, worming, flea and tick control, arthritis and behavioural issues.
We recommend your pet to receive an initial course of three vaccinations.
1st Vaccination is due between 6 to 8 weeks of age,
2nd Vaccination is due between 10 to 12 weeks of age,
3rd Vacination is due between 14 to 16 weeks of age
Pets on this regime are still at risk until two weeks after their final vaccination. Hence full protection hasn't been achieved until week 18. After this, your pet will need an annual booster. These boosters continue for the rest of your pets life.
To schedule an appointment for your pet’s next Annual Health Assessment and Vaccination please call the hospital on 4228 377.
Vaccination reminders are mailed, at least 2 weeks prior to your pets vaccination due date. Look out for Thomas coming to your letterbox!
