Sarah Toole
Sarah graduated from The University of Queensland in 1993. Her first position as a vet was in a mixed rural practice in Warwick ,SE Qld. In Warwick Sarah saw all creatures including cattle, horses, goats, pigs, emus, ostriches, dogs and cats.
After a year in Warwick Sarah moved to Wollongong with her fiancé Dennis and worked at Crown Street Vet Hospital from early 1995 until December 2006. Dennis was then transferred to Central Queensland and until 2006 Sarah followed him from town to town and has now lived and worked in many of the coal mining communities in Central Queensland. On returning to Wollongong Sarah did some locum work at various practices including Crown Street, but mainly enjoyed being back in civilisation after so many years away, and running around after the children. Sarah returned to Crown Street in July 2009 and is currently working 2 to 3 days a week. Sarah’s main areas of interest as a vet are in Medicine of dogs and cats, including preventative health care, geriatrics, and dentistry. She also enjoys soft tissue surgery.
Sarah and her husband Dennis live in Corrimal with their children Angus (aged 10) and Emma (aged 5), their dogs Jess, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Forrest Gump, the Boxer. They also regularly have Blue Tongue lizards needing rehabilitation and the occasional Possum in care.
In her spare time (exceedingly rare) Sarah enjoys taking the dogs to the beach, swimming, bushwalking and reading trashy novels.
